DRAMA SCENE PLAYERS Non-Profit Drama Scene Players is the non profit side to Drama Scene (including Drama Scene Players Inc. & Drama Scene Teens), which allows a committed group of Drama Scene Coaches and a Committee of Industry Professionals and former students, lead by President and Drama Arts Director Stephanie Waites, to imagine and pursue special projects with children & adults. The object of Drama Scene Players Incorporated is to inspire and enable children and young adults to create theatre that can be an agent for change. Our mission is to bridge the gap between the mind and the creative and performing arts. This includes (but is not limited to) drama in education, drama as explored therapy and drama for people with special needs.
CURRENT PROJECTS IN WORKSHOP AND/OR FUNDING DEVELOPMENT. * Introduction to Drama workshops for children with Aspergers who are integrated into mainstream schools and drama groups.
* Development of a teaching unit using drama to introduce Ancient History topics to Stages 1, 2, 3. * Resilience In The Playground workshops for Stage 1 and Stage 2 (lower & middle Primary School) aged students. * Original play performance for Girls in years 6 & 7 – Educational presentation on pre-teen health and development. * Drama Scene Teens – Playbuilding, reflecting on Asylum Seeker concerns, through automatic writing verbatim theatre, to create a May 2012 fundraising performance for Charity.
