Drama Scene Teens are a part of the Drama Scene PlayersInc. our not for profit side to Drama Scene.
Young People from across Sydney audition each May for a place in the group (by
performing a rehearsed, set monologue and participating in a group
workshop). Successful candidates are very young theatremakers with a passion
for the arts and an interest in expanding their skills in acting, writing,
directing, movement, voice, production. They make a strong commitment to
self-motivated researching, writing and rehearsing in between bi-monthly
Sunday workshops.
This year the Drama Scene Teens’
are devising a performance motivated by the number 11 and Asylum Seeker
concerns. They are using a Drama Scene
technique of ‘automatic writing verbatim theatre’.
The Drama
Scene Teens are also writing a duologue playscript. This play will be performed in 2012 by Dramasceners, children aged 5 – 12 who enjoy drama
and would like the opportunity to perform on the stage.
Both groups stage their
performances to raise money for Charity. Their next performances are open
to the public and invited family and friends mid-2012.
