Time to invite you to Audition

to be a 2010

SUNDAY SCENE PLAYER

Players are young people in SCHOOL YEARS 5, 6, 7, 8 demonstrating an enthusiastic and creative personality,
 a wide interest in the performing arts,
a high level of literacy and self discipline
and of course,
a very keen attitude towards drama.

Play  Write  Explore  Perform  Direct This year’s Theme is “TIME” and we will be devising a range of group devised theatre and personal performance pieces including collage theatre, based on this theme.  It is also time to  encourage Players to write and direct performances, perhaps even singing for some and you will be working with guest Coaches.  Of course it is also a time in the Drama Scene calendar when there is time to play lots of drama games to build skills that we don’t get to play in regular Drama Groups and shorter sessions, particularly loud, fast action games and fabulous fun, long form character improvisations.

PERFORMANCE
Our aim is to do an end of year performance for invited Industry guests & our family & friends & to donate the proceeds to a Charity nominated by the group.

 
AUDITION PLAYDAY: START PREPARING NOW!

SUNDAY, 28 March 2010, 12:30pm – 3:00pm

This afternoon will involve playing drama games to warm up (with some of the SUNDAY SCENE 2009 Players) and new Players need to audition by performing a memorised monologue (1–2 minutes) of your choice, in front of 2 Coaches.

MORE SUNDAY SCENE INFORMATION:

Rehearsals: The show cannot go on without you!  Sunday Scene Players must be therefore be able to commit to attending ALL rehearsals (unless ill) and completing any writing/line learning etc. between rehearsals and display exemplary behaviour.
 

Where: In Paddington on the stage at Glenmore Road P.S.
 

When: Final Sunday of every month, April – November.
 

Time: 12:30pm – 3:00pm (Earlier start November performance – time TBC).
 

Fees: Two Options
1. $40.00 each month.
2. Scholarships (no fee charged) if maintain enrolment in a Drama Scene Term Time group Before School / Lunch Time / After School for the entire year.

LOCATION: the Hall at Glenmore Road Public School – Cambridge Street, Paddington – Enter via STAGE DOOR.

 REHEARSAL SCHEDULE; 12:30pm–3:00pm
Please remember to wear ‘theatre blacks’ and to bring a pen and notebook
and small snack and a bottle of water.
