PROVIDED: All costumes, art, craft and performing
materials.
REQUIRED: Enrolment Form information must be
processed by the Drama Scene office BEFORE your child can attend any Drama
Scene session.

When an Enrolment Form has been processed, a place in a Drama Group is
reserved and you will be emailed or posted a Tax Invoice so you can reply with a payment to Drama Scene (all fees are due in
full by week 4 of the drama term).

Please contact Drama Scene when any of your child’s personal details alter
after an Enrolment Form has been processed. Please also ring Stephanie’s
mobile 0407 235 914 when your child
will be absent or if there is ever any change in the arrangements you
have notified for your child’s session departure.
* Drama Scene uses original
programs that respond to the interests and skills levels of Players developing
core creative, practical and performing arts skills and scaffolding process and
performance techniques. Our rolling curriculum means Players may
join at the commencement of any program.
* Players are presented with certificates of achievement or
reports highlighting progress and Outcomes. Please contact Drama Scene
Head Coach, Stephanie Waites, to discuss your child’s progress or participation
in a program at any time.
* Groups may
be given the opportunity to participate in a short demonstration of acquired
skills in a workshop open class for parents and friends or a public
performance.
* Players attending after school sessions may
bring a small snack and drink that are quick to consume for afternoon
tea. (Drama Scene supports child safety guideline of children not sharing
their food.)
* For movement and safety,
Players may be asked to remove their shoes for some drama sessions.

Fees
include 50% of school fee - Drama Scene pays $16.00 (inc. GST) per child.

Term 1 TOPIC:The
Drama Scene
A fun term to start the year, full of
games and activities that cover “Our 5 C’s” – Creativity, Confidence,
Communication, Coordination, Concentration” and show that drama is for much
more than playing and putting on plays.
All Players will
experience different activities every session including; games to warmup &
encourage important drama skills (physical controls and teamwork), story
building, costumes and character discovery with movement & mime, voice
modulation & projection, acting and scene building through improvisation,
puppetry, mask. The aim of this variety is to introduce new ideas to all and to
encourage each child to discover and display individual drama interests.
From this range we can then design the Term 2 topic to best suit this
particular group and your child will have discovered if drama is an activity
that gives them a ‘sparkle in their eye’. When keen, they can continue
into Term 2 with place secured in the group, using a Rollover Enrolment.
Children are met in the top
playground at 2:55pm and escorted by a Drama Scene Coach to the library for
drama sessions.(They may bring a small
snack that is quick to eat while the drama roll is marked).On wet weather days, children are met at the
top of the stairs near the going home waiting chairs.
Dismissal is on the ‘grey
carpet area’ outside the library at 4:15pm. Children must be collected by an
adult or written permission sent to Drama Scene if they are allowed to travel
home alone.
Children enrolled in After Care will
be taken to After Care by a Drama Scene Coach at 4:15pm. If you wish to
pick up your child early on drama days, please sign them out of After Care and
collect their bag from there before coming to the library to collect them from
drama.

We
play in the Library and upstairs classroom at Paddington Public School (near
Watson Street entrance). At 3:10pm, a Drama
Coach meets children from STFRANCIS OF ASSISI at their school and walks with
them to drama. A Drama Coach meets children from PADDINGTON P.S. and OTHER SCHOOLS in the P.P.S.
Courtyard (outside the Kindergarten classrooms) at 3:15pm. Please pack a
‘drama snack’ so that your child can join everyone else and quickly have
something to eat for afternoon tea before we start our drama sessions.
Dismissal is from Paddington Public School Kindergarten Courtyard (near Watson
Street entrance) or Paddington P.S. children can be escorted by their Coach to
the After Care within Paddington P.S. or St Francis of Assisi children can be
escorted back to Leisure. Every child receives a sticker as they leave Drama
Scene when the Coach farewells a child into the care of an appropriate adult.

A Coach meets Players on COLA steps outside
the new (2011) school hall. Please pack a ‘drama snack’ so that your
child can join everyone else and quickly have something to eat for afternoon
tea before we start our drama sessions. Dismissal is from the door of the
new main school hall or Players are escorted to the After Care service provided
within CSPS. Players receive a sticker as they leave drama when the Coach
farewells them with an appropriate adult.

We
meet on the seats out side the school hall and play in the Library and Hall at
Glenmore Road Public School, entrance from Cambridge Street, Paddington. (A
Drama Coach meets Kindergarten children from GRPS at their classrooms when
school ends to escort them to our meeting place.) If you would like to
pack a ‘drama snack’ for your child, they can join everyone else and quickly
have something to eat for their afternoon tea before we start our drama
sessions at 3:45pm, (we also have a drink and toilet visit before we start).Dismissal
is at 4:45pm from the Hall door or children are escorted to The Cottage.
Children receive a sticker as they leave Drama Scene when the Coach farewells
them with an appropriate adult.
